What evidence does NPGD have that supports the need for a nonprofit purchasing group?

The Feasibility Study conducted for Nemours Health & Prevention Services supported the need for a Nonprofit Purchasing Group of Delaware that would enable non-profit organizations in Delaware to receive discount purchasing for office products and services through a collective buying arrangement. Association or collective buying arrangements have been proven to be a significant vehicle for delivering "large organization" purchasing discounts to small or medium size non-profit organizations. This will aid the nonprofit organizations on both a financial and decision-making level.

What is the target audience membership for the nonprofit purchasing group service?

The primary participants in the NPGD will be the nonprofit community organizations that provide health, education, or human services. They will initially be drawn from a base of approximately 2800 nonprofit organizations classified as public charities throughout the Delaware area.

How will the purchasing group benefit the nonprofit community?

Nonprofit community organizations are often challenged with shrinking budgets and therefore have limited time to perform their core mission. The Nonprofit Purchasing Group of Delaware will make it easier for the Delaware nonprofit community to buy from a single source, choosing from among a set of pre-selected products for which prices have been negotiated in favor of the cooperative group.
